Caso: Medio Interno - Oxígeno III / Internal Medium - Oxygen III

Respiración es el proceso por el cual se introduce aire atmosférico, oxígeno, al organismo para ingresar a la sangre y por esta vía alcanzar cada célula de cada tejido en los diferentes órganos. El proceso de respiración tiene varias etapas:
# Ventilación, proceso por el cuál ingresa del aire atmosférico a los pulmones
# Difusión, proceso por el cuál difunde, pasa el O2 de los alveolos a la sangre y se disuelve en el plasma
# Unión del O2 a la Hemoglobina, el O2 que esta en la fase líquida de la sangre difunde al globulo rojo y tiende aunirse a la hemoglobina.
# Transporte de la sangre oxigenada a cada célula de cada tejido, a trabes de la red de arterias, arteriolas, capilares sanguíneos.
La cantidad de oxígeno que se aporta a los tejidos generalmente excede a las demandas metabólicas.
Si se produjese un desbalance entre la demanda y el aporte de O2, no se logra cubrir la demanda, el déficit fuese de envergadura y no se corrigiese, surge la posibilidad de muerte celular y ello puede afectar la funcionalidad del organo, si el organo es esencial para la vida el paciente puede fallecer.
Para analizar el aporte de oxígeno a las células no solo importa el nivel, la presión de O2 en la sangre, sino también: la cantidad y calidad de globulos rojos, el volumen total de sangre (la volemia) y el volumen minuto cardíaco "efecivo". Si alguna de estas 4 condiciones esta diminuida surge la posibilidad de ser deficitarios en el aporte de O2 a los tejidos y si el deficit es de magnitud importante se pone en riego la vida del paciente.
Aclaración importante:
* El termino Hipoxemia, hace referencia a que es bajo el nivel de O2 en la sangre.
* El termino Hipoxia hace referencia a bajo aporte de O2 a los tejidos

Respiration is the process by which atmospheric air, oxygen, is introduced into the body to enter the blood and through this way reach each cell of each tissue in the different organs. The breathing process has several stages:
# Ventilation, process by which atmospheric air enters the lungs
# Diffusion, process by which O2 diffuses, passes from the alveoli to the blood and dissolves in the plasma
# Binding of O2 to Hemoglobin, the O2 that is in the liquid phase of blood diffuses to the red blood cell and tends to bind to hemoglobin.
# Transport of oxygenated blood to each cell of each tissue, through the network of arteries, arterioles, and blood capillaries.
The amount of oxygen delivered to the tissues generally exceeds metabolic demands.
If an imbalance occurs between the demand and the supply of O2, the demand cannot be covered, the deficit is large and is not corrected, the possibility of cell death arises and this can affect the functionality of the organ, if the organ is essential for life the patient may die.
To analyze the oxygen supply to the cells, not only the level and pressure of O2 in the blood matter, but also: the quantity and quality of red blood cells, the total volume of blood (volume) and the effective cardiac minute volume. ". If any of these 4 conditions is diminished, the possibility arises of being deficient in the supply of O2 to the tissues and if the deficit is of significant magnitude, the patient's life is put at risk.
Important clarification:
* The term Hypoxemia refers to the low level of O2 in the blood.
* The term Hypoxia refers to low O2 supply to the tissues.
